Leaders from California Institute of Advanced Management and Peter Drucker Academy Visited CityU to Explore Multidimensional Cooperation


On 30 March, President, Prof. Jennie Ta and Vice President, Dr Eric McLaughlin from California Institute of Advanced Management, and President Prof. Julia Wang from Peter Drucker Academy visited CityU for discussions on future collaborative projects.   Rector Prof. Shu Guang Zhang, Academic Registrar Dr. Sean Li, Executive Associate Dean of the Faculty of Business, Dr. Eva Khong, and Executive Associate Dean of the Faculty of International Tourism and Management, Dr. Gavin Chau received the guests warmly.

During the meeting, leaders from CIAM had demonstrated that their institute had inherited the Peter Drucker’s philosophy on Management of Liberal Art, which has also led to the insitute’s mission and vision. Dr. Eric McLaughlin gave a detailed speech afterwards on CIAM’s Online Master Program of Business Administration which had gained national accreditations by ACICS (Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools) within 4 years’time. CIAM was founded by Dr. William A. Cohen and Entrepreneur Minglo Shao in 2011.  Being one of the main founders for Peter Drucker Academy in China region, Prof. Shao had taught the Drucker Business Administration Programs across 32 cities of China and Hong Kong SAR.  Nowadays, CIAM’s Online Master Program of Business Administration had already successfully granted accreditation from ACICS, BPPE, CHEA and several accreditations from international accreditation agencies within just a few years’ time.

The presentations given by Prof. Ta and Dr. McLaughlin were very much impressed by CityU’s leadership team.  Prof. Zhang praised on the rapid development of CIAM and its success on the online MBA program. He then proposed five areas of possible collaborations with CIAM which are Business Faculty and International Tourism and Management Faculty’s cohort students’ exchanges, double degree programs, scholars visits from CIAM, building Food and Beverage Management specialized program and a joint research project on Macau region and Mainland China based consulting cases.  Prof. Ta, strongly agrees to the areas that Prof. Zhang suggested and she confidently looking forward to CIAM establishing a long-term collaborative relationship with City University of Macau.
