On 24 April, President of José Rizal University, Dr. Vicente Fabella and Vice President, Augusto Fabella visited CityU, our Rector Prof. Shu Guang Zhang, Academic Registrar Dr. Sean Li, Associate Executive Dean of Faculty of Business, Dr. Eva Khong warmly received the guests. The two parities had a inspirational discussion on the means of future cooperation followed by signing a Memorandum of Understanding.
During the meeting, Rector Zhang expressed his sincere welcome to the guests, he then introduced Macau Higher Education System and the recent years of developments of City University of Macau . President Fabella responded positively about the fast development of our university and kindly offered our leadership a visit to José Rizal University. He has also stated JRU's willingness to collaborate extensively with CityU, The two sides signed a cooperation agreement framework, will be student exchanges, academic exchanges, discipline construction and scientific research and development and other aspects of exchanges and cooperation, and gradually establish a solid cooperation mechanism. The two schools plan to cooperate in the international tourism and management, social sciences, nursing and other fields to cultivate double degree talents, to encourage José Rizal University students to enroll in our international elite classes of Faculty of Business and Faculty International Tourism and Management, and participate in internship programs of world renowned five star hotels. The two universities have also planned to jointly carry out a research on the sustainable development of coastal cities in the global hot topic, "smart city".
